A recognized leader in the professional sports and entertainment industry, Timothy J. Leiweke serves as President and CEO of AEG, one of the world’s leading presenters of sports and entertainment programming. Under his leadership in Los Angeles, AEG developed and operates STAPLES Center, the home of five professional sports franchises including the Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Avengers and Los Angeles Sparks, and The Home Depot Center, a multi-sport, multi-venue facility which has been designated an official U.S. Olympic Training Site and represents the largest-ever private investment in Olympic sports ($150 million). Internationally, AEG controls five professional ice hockey teams in Europe and has several projects under development in Asia and Europe, including a 20,000-seat arena within London’s Millennium Dome. Mr. Leiweke’s career in sports administration began in 1979 and includes serving as President of the NBA’s Denver Nuggets and President and CEO for U.S. Skiing. As a tribute to his commitment to Los Angeles, he has been honored by numerous community organizations including the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce as their Distinguished Man of the Year as the recipient of the Los Angeles Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Los Amigos de Los Angeles Award. |
